Eliana Joy will turn two on Sunday, October 7th. We plan to have the family over to celebrate her day. It will have a Hawiian theme, only there wont be any pit with a pig in it. But there will be lots of fun, laughter and good food.
When I first learned that I was to have a little girl, I was excited and a little nervous. Both of these feelings I have found were legit. From the moment she wakes, to the moment before bedtime, there is constant emotion, laughter, kisses, snuggles…oh and at times hitting and biting her brother. I’m sure this sounds familiar to you. This girl is fully on when she’s on. And she’s mine…all mine. I get to lead her to Jesus.
As I typed that last phrase I am reminded of the many times a day that my kids lead me to Jesus. Most times they don’t have to say anything. Their very existence forces me to call on Jesus. Help me Lord. Give me grace to love my children the way You do. May they love You, preach the gospel of Your life, death, resurrection and ours to come on the day Jesus returns to make all the wrong things right. And may they stand firm in this hope of your return til the end.
So, right in the middle of two boys is My Girl. My sweet, melt-my-heart-with-your-smile, passionate, joyful, goofy, beautiful, gorgeous, daughter of mine. I look forward to each day with you. Each moment is such a gift. I’m so honored that I get to be your mommy and I eagerly await and anticipate those teachable moments with you. And just being girly together. I love you….My Girl.
