I go to the library with my kids (ages 2, 5 and sometimes my 6 month old) at least once a week. My heart is pretty sensitive to the types of books my children are exposed to. We each have different levels of sensitivity, some have more strict views than mine and others could care less, that’s your prerogative-between you and Jesus. :-)
Each library is different. And each storyteller is has their own style. I happen to really love the girl who leads the Friday story time at our library. She’s engaging, imaginative, creative and for the most part very tasteful with her choice of books for story time. Sometime you come across some pretty “interesting” story tellers. There choice of focus clearly has an agenda. Bye-bye.
Now onto the fun part. Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons. The reason why I like this book is because of Pete’s lightheartedness towards “stuff.” We get so focused on stuff that when stuff is gone our whole world falls apart. At least my kids are like that, I’m perfect. :-) Here’s a quick look at the book on youtube: Pete The Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons
We also really like Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes.
This author has more books, but these two are my favorite’s so far. Enjoy!
